Discovery and Appreciation of our Planet
Why does Jenny experience the need to paint and create impressions of what she sees, feels, smells, and imagines?
This is a question that Jenny has pondered since she started painting at age four.
As she has traversed through life’s experiences, Jenny has found that the most productive and satisfying times are those where she was drawn into the magic of the world that surrounded her. She discovered that this happens even on the most chaotic of days, where she slows her steps, hears the sounds, stop, stays, notice things, observes the fine detail, and savours the senses.
These moments in time, connecting with the surrounds, using all the senses, provides the inspiration for her works.
Jenny Hock Art - How it Happens
Born from the serenity of North Queensland, Australia and inspired by her travels overseas, Jenny’s art is a profound reflection of her intimate connection with the environment.
Every piece of Jenny Hock art starts with a moment of connection. Whether wandering the lush expanses of North Queensland, or exploring vibrant scenes and cultures overseas, Jenny pauses to immerse herself in the moment.
With her journal in hand, Jenny sketches a scene to seize the essence of her experience and takes photographs for reference - which become the foundation for her art, where observation becomes expression.
Jenny hopes that her works bring about a realisation for the viewer that our surroundings can be admired and enjoyed, bringing about peace and calm for a time in our present world.
